The more we know the closer we are!

Human Living Library event  at Pearl Cove Library

What do you know about the Middle East?

The Middle east is cradle of human civilization and the birthplace of the world's three major monotheistic religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
They have a rich history and splendid traditional culture… but all the news we receive about the Middle East from today’s media is centred on conflict. This alienates the Middle East from the rest of the world...

Come to our human library event! It will give you an insight into the lives of those a world apart.

Our Human Living Library is a place where real people are on loan to readers. 'Readers' can borrow a 'book' for a set period of time (up to 30 mins).

Our books

Abd al Alim - architect in Lebanon,

Husam al Din - a teacher in Iraq

Aanisah - housewife good at calligraphy from Iran

Muhtadi - A chef from Egypt

The Sawsan family - from a war-torn part of Syria

Usama - a vendor from Saudi Arabia

Alinta- Researcher on Middle East affairs (Indigenous Australian scientist)

Kalinda - Religious affairs researcher (Indigenous Australian)
