MEET OUR HUMAN LIBRARY

Linda Burney MP – Kograh area of Sydney

Nova Perris - OAM

Nova Perris is an author as well as discussing parenting and being a young grandmother and advice and how she manages her family life as well as being a contributor in Parliament and a Athlete.

Dr Howard Chilton: Paediatrician

Dr Chilton works at Prince of Wales Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women and Sydney’s Children Hospital. Dr Chilton is also an author of Baby on Board released in July 2013 and Your Cherished Baby in August 2014.

The human library would be for all parents but also for those who find parenting solo as a single parent and young mothers. There is stigma of young mothers and many important issues relating to young people and parenthood that we need to address as a society.

The Human Library of Parenting will help breakdown sterotypes & prejudices. For example, If you become a mother at a very young age, then you must not be too bright and speculations about the mothers parenting abilities and about being able to tend to the needs of the child.

A Fact is that
“Having a baby at any age poses unique challenges and unique benefits”.

So by having a Human Library focused on Parenting will be beneficial to all members of the community.

What is Human Living Libraries

The Human Library is in the true sense of the word, a library of people. They host events where readers can borrow human beings serving as open books and have conversations they would not normally have access to.
