To coincide with World Environment Day, Pearl Cove Library will be hosting a Human Living Library event about Australian indigenous farming practises that have been long-forgotten,
neglected, and written out of this country’s history since the time of white
settlement. Special guest, Bruce Pascoe, author of Dark Emu will be
taking part in this event, discussing how indigenous people used agricultural and aquacultural
practises that made use of Australia’s land and river systems.
The event
will have a selection of native foods courtesy of Bushlolly Café, all made from
plants and grains which are native to Australia, and (mostly) grown locally
around the Pearl Cove area.
