To celebrate Literacy Week 2021, Pearl Cove Library is presenting:
Human Living Library
for Young Adults and Parents
The human living library is a new concept to build a positive framework for conversations that can challenge social stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. You will have the opportunity to dialogue with people that you do not normally meet and speak about sensitive topics (ethnicity, religion, mental health, disability, etc.) in a safe and secure place.
This event is to help the community to achieve better understanding, inspiring others and create positive outcomes as individuals and as groups.
You may “borrow” the Human Books on loan for story and dialogue concerning the book’s experience of discrimination and stereotype with a simple rule, open dialogue and respect, not being rude or offensive.
Feel the new experience by reading amazing “Books”
There are six "Books" available to borrow. You can choose the topic that suit your interest. Each session will be 30 minutes at their designated time.
We invite young adults 12-25 years old and parents
