Let's get to know each other!

Human Library Event

Let's Get to Know Each Other!

Come and join us at the Pearl Cove Library Café
on Wednesday, 17th March 2021, between 11am and 3pm. We will be hosting an event in celebration of our community at Pearl Cove.

A Human Library Event can be explained as an event where Human Books can be borrowed for a discussion or a conversation.
We chose to align with Harmony Week as Pearl Cove Council and Harmony both strongly believe in inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

This event will give you an opportunity to get to know your neighbours, someone who would be interesting to talk to, and that someone we will call a human book.  There will be 6 human books available for borrowing in 20 minute timeslots. These books come from various different backgrounds: Anita Heiss - an Aboriginal writer, a local resident born in Australia, New Zealand/United Kingdom, Syria, Iran, China. The borrowers will come away with a richer knowledge and understanding of the different cultural backgrounds we have at Pearl Cove.

Please contact Pearl Cove Library to reserve your human book. We look forward to hearing from you!
