Pearl Cove Library is hosting a one of a kind event, a Human Living Library. This event is unusual as we are encouraging you to borrow people instead of books to listen to their stories about their interesting lives. And we are inviting you to take part in this interesting social experiment. These events are to encourage us to break out of the status quo and have important and deep conversations about topics that confuse us, offend us, educate us, encourage us, inspire us, enlighten us.

This Human Living Library is all about adoption, and the fostering of children, from the point of view of our books who have been adopted, been fostered, have adopted and fostered children and have also given up children for adoption.

Our Books are:

Uncle Eddie - a member of the stolen generation

Samantha - Fostered from a young age through multiple families

                                                   Adam - Foster Dad

Mark- Was adopted as an early teen

Mai - An overseas born baby adopted into an Australian family

Ashley - Gave up her baby through adoption

This event is being held on the 1st of August in the Pearl Cove meeting room located inside of the Pearl Cove Library, please call, email or enquire at the library to reserve a spot to attended. Please visit our website for more details!
