#See the able not the label

Come and celebrate the international day of people with a disability at Pearl Cove Library for our Human Library event!

Become a 'Reader' and borrow our 'living books' from our special catalogue of the day

"Our event aims is to reduce stereotypes and prejudices people might have towards people or groups of people with a disability and promote respect and acceptance of our differences as humans to unite our community"

What is a living book?

A living book is a local resident that is willing to share their lives experiences with readers who borrow them. Our library staff  will help you find the book your are most interested in and introduce them. 'Readers' are encourage to have a conversation with our 'Books' and ask questions they have always wanted to know and normally do not have the opportunity to do so.
