Protecting What Will Be

Suitable for: This is an all-ages event (children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult)

Help Yourself and Others With Mental Illness

  "World suicide day: suicide help seminar"
 
All invited, privet one on one conversations with others about mental illness are available. Along with informative talks by mental health professionals and volunteers who have experienced mental illness. There will be materials provided by the library to help our goal in raising the common knowledge about mental illness and therefore help prevent and guide those suffering from mental illnesses.  
 
 
Food and catering will be provided and we will do our best to provide for everyone
 
The seminar will run on the 10th from 4:00 to 7:00 and will be found in the Pearl Cove Library, there will be signs with directions from the front desk. 
 
There will be separate areas if needed.
 
We will provide information on a list of mental illnesses but will be focusing on Depression.

- Monday to Sunday, 10 am to 3 pm. 
- Wednesday, 5:30 am to 6 am Dawn Service. Reopens 10 am to 3 pm

- Entry is free for everyone who wishes to attend but speakers must book before hand at this address

Beginning Monday the 23rd of April, we will be holding a week long commemoration of the sacrifice of Anzac soldiers throughout history, using the 'living books' veterans, professors and the families of the fallen will share their stories all the way until Sunday the 29th of April. We will also be hosting a dawn service on Wednesday beginning at 5:30 am that will go for half an hour.

A day to remember and a story to discover!

Remember this Anzac Day with your library!

As part of pearl coves human living library events, through the month of April we will be having ANZAC Day stories told by “living books” through week leading up to ANZAC Day. Guests will have a 30 minute group or one on one session with a living book, each of our living books come from a different background with a different story to tell. There will also be fun crafting events and refreshments for guests to enjoy so come down and have some fun whilst learning about Australia’s history. 

When: Tuesday 18th, Friday 21st and Tuesday 25th of April. 

Time: Sessions are split into two groups with the first group commencing
from 6pm - 7:45pm and 7pm - 9:45pm.

Where: Pearl Cove Library (in the library itself)

Free entry: Booking are essential via email or in person at Pearl Cove Library

Local Heroes

Celebrate Pearl Cove's local heroes in the spirit of the ANZACS!

The event will be held on April 25th 2018 at Pearl Cove Library, commencing at 10am.

Local Heroes at Pearl Cove Library celebrates Pearl Cove's involvement and connection to the ANZAC heroes and tradition. Living libraries will be involved, where a local member of the community with personal connections to the ANZACs will be available to share their stories and answer questions. Examples of Living Libraries include veterans, family members and other members of the community who have memories and stories about the ANZACs and the ANZAC tradition in the Pearl Cove community. An ANZAC themed story time will be held for children and families are welcome to attend. Photographs, artwork and memoribillia will be displayed. A light morning tea will be provided, and any dietry requirements can be emailed to bookings@pearlcovelibrary.com.au.

Howzat! Celebrating Australian sport

Do you love playing sport? Watching sport? Cheering on our athletes as they take on the best the world has to offer? Supporting kids as they have fun on the sporting field?
This event is for you!
Pearl Cove Library is holding a free event to celebrate Australian sport as well as the sport in the Pearl Cove local area. The library will have special national, state and local sporting figures in our Human living library. There will be talks, stories, yarns and of course fun. There will also be promotion of books, DVD’s and other library resources on sport and sporting stories. 
Plus great snacks and drinks.
Come in and let’s celebrate sport in this country!
