The event will be held on April 25th 2018 at Pearl Cove Library, commencing at 10am.

Local Heroes at Pearl Cove Library celebrates Pearl Cove's involvement and connection to the ANZAC heroes and tradition. Living libraries will be involved, where a local member of the community with personal connections to the ANZACs will be available to share their stories and answer questions. Examples of Living Libraries include veterans, family members and other members of the community who have memories and stories about the ANZACs and the ANZAC tradition in the Pearl Cove community. An ANZAC themed story time will be held for children and families are welcome to attend. Photographs, artwork and memoribillia will be displayed. A light morning tea will be provided, and any dietry requirements can be emailed to bookings@pearlcovelibrary.com.au.

ABC and a cup of tea

Do you know an adult who has struggled with reading and writing throughout their life?  Bring them along to this special event so they can talk with others who have been in the same position. Meet some members of our “human living library” who are available to discuss their own hardship and success with literacy.  Learn more about human living libraries

Illiteracy affects many adults in our society and they often feel embarrassment, low self-worth and have no idea about how to access help. Some rely heavily on family and friends to help them get by in our highly literate world. This event will let those who are struggling with illiteracy know that there is help available.

Please join us for afternoon tea
