Interested in
learning about the history of a language?
Join us at Pearl Cove Library this February
with our living books for our monthly Human Libraries event to celebrate
languages and linguistic diversity. Our living books from Chinese, Indigenous,
Maori and Middle Eastern backgrounds would love to share their languages and its
cultures and traditions with the community. Some of the activities incorporated in this event includes tasting snacks from various cultures and learning to write in different languages.
Date: Friday 23rd February, 2018
Time: 10am to 2:30pm
Location: Pearl Cove Library
Cost: Free
Also, a
complimentary lunch with a range of foods from diverse cultures will be available
for those who attend the event. Please specify whether
you have any dietary requirements and/or food allergies when registering to the
event. The catering provided at the event would also include specific labels
identifying whether it is appropriate for vegetarians and people with food
intolerances and/or allergies to ensure that it is safe for you to consume.
