MEDICO MAYDAY
A LIVING LIBRARIES EXPERIENCE
A Pearl Cove Council Initiative
Pearl Cove Council is pleased to announce the commencement of a Living Libraries experience, where, in a ‘meeting of minds’ Pearl cove community members can link in with doctors, nurses, EMS, and other medical
professionals, along with survivors of the above listed illnesses and syndromes
and others, broadening
community knowledge and empathy.
With recognition to the many acknowledged fundraising and awareness days in the month of May, Pearl Cove Council has endeavoured to gather together the best minds in the country to serve as Books, available to be "checked out" of the Human Living Library.
Discussions will touch on topics including:
- Women’s Health Week (inclusive of Women’s Check-up Day);
- Brain Tumour/Brain Cancer Awareness Month (inclusive of Go Grey Day);
Come along and speak to Books including Australia's first Indigenous Orthopaedic Surgeon, the NSW Paramedic of the Year, traditional Indigenous healers, Professors of Medicine from leading Universities, and community members living, and thriving, with conditions including Melanoma, Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis,
Parkinson’s Disease, and Infertility.
Timetable for book availability will be published on the Pearl Cove Council Website on 20th April 2018
For details, call JeanMarie M on 0400 000 000 or contact Council via the online portal
