Humans of Pearl Cove Library

Humans of Pearl Cove Library

World Refugee Day 2018

Wednesday 20 June 2018, 6pm
Pearl Cove Library, main area

Come and celebrate Pearl Cove’s diversity by “loaning” our living books! Based on the ground-breaking "Human Living Libraries" concept, "Humans of Pearl Cove Library" will be an eye-opening and unforgettable experience for all. Five volunteer "books" with five very different stories to tell will explore what it means to be a refugee. The event is hosted by Pearl Cove Council in collaboration with Pearl Cove Library, Pearl Cove Social Justice Group, and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Committee. You will make new friends, learn about different cultures, and have a few snacks too. Kosher, vegetarian, and halal options are provided.
The event is free. Register at Pearl Cove Library by 1 June 2018. For more information about the "Human Living Library" initiative please visit humanlibrary.org
