Find A Home in Me - Borrow a Human Living Book - Free Event

We are holding our annual event for Homelessness Week

When:   8 August 2020

Time:   10:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Where:  Pearl Cove Library, in the Pearl Café

Fee:  This is a FREE event!

Find A Home in Me is one of Pearl Cove’s annual Human Living Library events. This year, Pearl Cove Library welcomes four new Human Living Books. Together, we will extend our arms and share stories of a growing reality of displacement, exclusion and human experience.

Homelessness in Australia has increased by 13.7% in the span of 5 years. That's about 50 individuals out of every 10,000 Australians. 20% (or 23,347) are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. 30% are born overseas. - Homelessness Australia

Choose to speak to one of our Human Living Books: Homelessness Australia representative, Indigenous Australian community member, War veteran who battled homelessness and Salvation Army staff member.

Refreshments** will be provided on the day.

Visit Eventbrite to reserve a time slot with one of our Human Library Books. Options for food and preferred book will be available when booking. There is a limit to one book per person. An email will be sent out to confirm bookings and choices. Event details will also be included in the email. Please keep this email for event entry on the day. There may also be room for walk-in sessions on the day.

**All food and drinks will have Halal, Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten and Lactose free options.
