Stay alive! - Build your inner warrior!

Support suicide awareness and prevention by joining our event on September 10, 2019!

Pearl Cove library will transform into Human Library on the World Suicide Prevention Day - September 10, 2019 to promote understanding of suicide prevention among community.

Human Library is where you can “borrow” a person and “read” as a “book”. Readers can listen to our books’ stories and have a meaningful conversation up to half an hour.

Our books are on the shelf and free to book:

Books Images
  • An Indigenous Australian doctor: A psychiatrist will talk about suicide with a focus on help-seeking and explain how to help someone with suicidal thoughts.
  • A mom who lost her son to suicide sharing her experience.
  • An unemployed person who made an attempt on his life talking about his depression.
  • A single mom talking how she was struggling with her life and had thought of suicide.
Go to Pearl Cove Library and read about this difficult topic. You can learn from our books’ experience and play an important role in suicide prevention. Spread inspirational messages and hope!

Tea and biscuits are provided so you can enjoy a pleasant reading time.
