Pulling into the Transtaion! (All aboard!)


About the event:
Pearl cove library is holding a Living Library event all about trans people! come and learn more about this subject by "borrowing" some of our lovely "books" and have an enlightening conversation in a safe, caring and friendly environment!


Event details:
Where - pearl cove library
Date - Saturday, march 16
Time - 12:30 - 5:30
Cost - Free
Booking - book through Eventbrite using the term "Transtation" before February 23 to get your place!

The Proud Crowd - A Celebration of Transgender People





About the Event: 

Come celebrate the International Day of Trans Visibility at Pearl Cove Library for our Human Library event! Become a 'Reader' and listen to our 'Books' as they share their experiences of being transgender, having a transgender child, or having a transgender parent. 

Our event aims to facilitate discussion about the issues facing transgender people by encouraging an open conversation between 'Books' and 'Readers', so come along and ask any questions you might have while enjoying a free lunch!  

Event details:

When:  Saturday, 30th March 2019
Time: 10am - 12.30pm, followed by a light lunch
Cost: Free!
Bookings: Please book via Eventbrite by 15 March to ensure you don't miss out! 

Meet some of our Books!

Jordan Raskopoulos

Jordan is a comedian, actor, singer and activist and is best known as the lead singer of 'Axis of Awesome', a comedy rock group. Jordan publicly came out as a transgender woman in 2016 and has since toured around Australia advocating for transgender rights.

Nevo Zisin

Nevo is an author and transgender rights activist who came out as a transgender man in high school. Nevo now identifies as non-binary and wrote their first book 'Finding Nevo: How I Confused Everyone' in 2017 about their complex relationship with gender.
