Reconciliation week

Human Living Library event

24 May 2018

Reconciliation events are held all over Australia this week and we are very excited to have our own Pearl Cove event registered to acknowledge the traditional custodians of this beautiful land, and raise awareness of Pearl Coves’ indigenous story

See more information about Reconciliation week and a list of events here:

This is not your usual library event!

With your library card, you will be able to borrow a piece of Pearl Cove history and hear a story we guarantee you have never heard before

As part of a world-wide movement, Pearl Cove library is taking part in our very own Human Living library, where instead of borrowing a book, you can borrow a Pearl Cove local for a special reconciliation week conversation. See more information about Human living library concept: http://humanlibrary.org/

Join us in the Pearl Room, at Pearl Cove Library for this free event

As part of International International People's day, come and learn from local aboriginal people and the social organisations that work alongside them for an afternoon of recognition, reconciliation, respect and understanding.

This is a human living libraries event. The books are people. You borrow them for a while, chat and hear their stories. No bookings necessary, just come with an open mind.

Date: Saturday 11.08.2017
Time: 2pm-5pm
Location: Pearl Cove Library
