Teddy Bears Sleepover

This is a fun event for people of all ages.

The event starts with a sign in of the Teddies which is followed up with a party that people and Teddies attend together. Once the party ends the people leave and the Teddies continue to have fun.  Once everyone has left for the night the Teddies explore the town often visiting different establishments and heading out to dinner before heading back to the library for a good night's sleep. The Teddies are up again early and head out to get a start to the day by catching the sunrise and then visiting one last local attaction before it is time to get ready to go home.

The lead up to the Teddy Bears Sleepover can be followed on the Library's Facebook page with regular photos and updates of what the Library Teddies are up to and hints about what they may be planning for the party and beyond.  On the night of the sleepover the fun continues on our Facebook page with regular updates until midnight (when the Teddies go to sleep) and picks up again the following morning until about 2pm in the afternoon, when the Teddies are just about ready to go home.

Anyone can attend the party day, or sign a Teddy in at the Library for the party and collect on the Friday, with all participants receiving a special booklet detailing what the Teddies got up to between 5pm and 3pm the next day.  For those who may not be able to attend on the day, you are welcome to sign your Teddy up before hand and arrange a pick up time that suits you.

Food for Fines Amnesty in July

As part of our July birthday celebrations Pearl Cove Library Service is offering to waive outstanding fines in exchange for canned food.  For every can of food donated $1 will be waived from any outstanding overdue fines on members records.  Pearl Cove Mayor stated that this was a 'thoughtful,  inventive and clever way to raise community awareness for those in need'.
Each donation will benefit the Street Mission charity, a volunteer organisation which supports the needs of disadvantaged people by providing food, linkages to other charities and offering new experiences.
